Kim Delaney, an American actress, is best known for her character detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series, for which she received the Emmy Award. Her other credits include her performances in the drama All My Children Philly CSI: Miami as well as Army Wives. Delaney was born the sole child of her mother who was a homemaker and an executive in her union, the United Auto Workers. Delaney spent most of her childhood in the company of four brothers. When she was a little girl, she wanted to work as a reporter in the courtroom. However, in high school, when she started modeling for commercials, and later after moving to New York. She starred in 1981 as an innocent teenager in All My Children. Delaney is well-known as an actor who has appeared involved in numerous TV movies, and dramas. As with her professional career however, her private life has not been happy or successful. She has been in the past accomplished actress battled alcoholism and had two marriages fall apart. The actress lost custody of her son in the year 2005.
